Faith Formation at St. Mary
RCIA Bible Study Apologetics
We offer a variety of learning resources here at St. Mary's. Whether you are looking to enter into the fullness of the Catholic Church, you want to seek God in his word, or learn to defend your faith. St. Mary's seeks to serve all who wish to grow in their faith.
Understanding Your Catholic Faith
This Class, also called RICA (Rite of Christian initiation for adults), is an opportunity to find out more about the basic tenents of the Catholic faith. For the Baptized and Confirmed Catholic this class will reinvigorate your love of the Church, as well as answer any questions that you currently have about your faith. This study of the Catechism of the Catholic Church will deepen the faith of all participants. RCIA is also the process through which non-baptized men and women enter the Catholic Church. (It is also for those baptized in a different faith tradition who wish to become Catholic, or baptized Catholic, but never confirmed) It includes several stages marked by study, prayer and rites at Mass. Participants seeking entry into the Church are known as catechumens. They undergo a process of conversion as they study the Gospel, profess faith in Jesus and the Catholic Church, and receive the sacraments of baptism, confirmation and Holy Eucharist.

Bible Study at St. Mary
Bible Study 2008-2009
Right now we are gearing up for some great Bible Studies in the Fall. Many people participated last year and we pray that we might build on that success. Bible studies will be offered throughout the school year on Wednesdays at 4:30pm, 6 & 7:30 pm at the CEC and on Thursdays at 9:45am at St. Mark’s. Parishioners of all three parishes are invited to participate! Currently we are looking for people who would be willing to co-lead Wednesday evening sessions. It would be a seven week commitment. Group member read and answer questions ahead of time and then the leader facilitates the discussion as members share their answers. If you might be interested in leading a Bible Study group this fall please call Mickey Redfearn at 445-1229.

Thursday Night Study Group
Every Thursday at St. Mary we offer a chance to learn and grow in your faith. We meet at 7:00 pm in the Parish offices. Our current studies include:
Bible Timeline with Jeff Cavins
Finally there's new hope for anyone who's ever tried to read through the Bible only to give up in confusion and despair! In The Great Adventure-A Journey Through the Bible, well-known Catholic speaker Jeff Cavins untangles the complex Biblical narrative and provides a chronological guide linking together the historical characters and stories contained in God's Word. This inspiring program features the most masterful blueprint of the Bible available today (and perhaps in the last 5000 years)! You'll be amazed at how easy it is to finally grasp the "big picture" of Scripture.
Theology of the Body
According to John Paul II, God created the body as a “sign” of his own divine mystery. This is why he speaks of the body as a “theology,” a study of God. Discover God's will in the form He gave man. From design, to function this study looks at all aspects of human life and how God's plan is intrinsically woven into each and every part of our bodies and lives.
Father John Corpi
Fr. Corpi is the most dynamic, authoritative and instructive speaker of our time. His teachings on the Catechism and every aspect of our Catholic faith are a solid foundation for anybody looking to build on their faith.
